Using Windows SBS 2008, following recreating a partition (D:) which had reverted to RAW from NTFS, I needed to restore the last good backup, which appeared from the SBS Console/Server Backup Properties/Previous Backups to have successfully backed up drives C: and D:. When moving to restore, I find that this backup was completed with warnings. Expanding this line, it reports an error: "D: Incorrect function". When I look back through the history of the connected backup drive, I find that it has only backed up the C: drive even though the backup configuration has always been set to back up both C: and D:. As D: drive is the drive which holds all of the data, everything appears to be lost! Is there any way to recover any of this data?
