Hi everybody! Thank you in advance for looking and attempting to help!
Here is my scenario:
1. I connect with a Server 2008 R2 Server to a remote iSCSI (Software) Windows Server 2012 mount.
2. Run Windows backup to that iSCSI mount from Windows Server 2008 R2.
3. Disconnect the iSCSI mount on 2008 box.
4. Take the iSCSI target VHD file offline on the 2012 box.
All works fine so far.
Disaster testing...
1. I download the VHD file to the d drive of the 2008 server.
2. Boot into Windows PE
3. Mount the vhd file with diskpart
4. Make sure I can browse the vhd, so I know it is accessible.
All good so far...
(F is the VHD drive)
5. wbadmin get versions -backuptarget:f: -machine:srv1 <--- Here is where I receive VSS error
ERROR - A volume shadow copy service operation error has occured: (0x80042302)
A volume shadow copy service component encountered an unexpected error.
Check the application event log for more information.
I have tried this on multiple boxes with the same results...ANY HELP PLEASE :)
Thanks!
