We've got a 2008 R2 server connected via iSCSI initiator to a Readynas 3200 device, and Windows Server Backup is configured to backup to that disk nightly. Weeks will go by and it will work great... all backups appear in the history when the "View Details" link is clicked in the Destination Usage section. The last time I checked, we had 27 backups available.
Today I was asked to restore some files from a backup from last week. However, upon opening Windows Server Backup, it now shows that there is only 1 backup available. Viewing the details only shows
last night's backup in the list...none other exist. I checked to make sure it was still connected to the iSCSI disk, and it is...nothing has changed at all on the ReadyNas' configuration.
Any ideas as to what might have caused the history to get wiped? Sadly this is not the first time this has happened, so it has me very concerned about whether we should continue using Windows Server
Backup at all. Any help in figuring out what's causing the history to get wiped, or any way to recover the history, would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks all!
