Windows Server 2008R2 Backup Hangs - No Errors

When I run the native Windows Server Backup through the Server Manager Console (scheduled or manually), or through wbadmin, the service completes the backup of: -- Recovery -- (2.94 MB of 2.94 MB).  However, the backup service hangs up at this point.  Both -- OS C: -- and -- Bare Metal Recovery -- list 0KB of 0KB in the Data Transfer column.  There is no further progress from this point; the data partition never backs up.

I previously had repeating Events: 137, 57, and 134.  It was during this period that Windows Server Backup began malfunctioning.  I solved Event 137 by deleting the .blf and .regtrans-ms files in the ...\Machine folder and executing - fsutil resource setautorest true c:\

After rebooting, I no longer have any of the above errors; however, backup still will not complete.  The symptoms are described above.

I have reviewed the Windows Application logs in Event Viewer, and there are no warnings or cautions, except Event 10, since my last reboot.

I have no more information with which to continue troubleshooting this issue.  I would very much appreciate assistance.
