Managing multiple servers via ONE interface for Windows Server Backup 2008 R2. Where is the capability?

I have two problems with Windows Server 2008 R2 Backup.

1. You cannot manage multiple backup server instances from one place, even if the OS are the same version. Attempts to manage more than one server at a time result in the failure/collapse/bombing out of the MMC backup plugin. WHY? Why are we allowed to add a server and make a list only to find out the next time we open the MMC backup tool that all of the server names we stored in that MMC backup list are now gone and don't work? It instead lists the same server name (the local server you are currently in) for all of the server's in the list that had been prior listing as other server names. It would be extremely helpful if you could remotely manage more than one backup server instance at a time. Why is this not possible? Is it a bug in R2 or what? I am speaking about the GUI too, not the remote scripts. Is there a 3rd party interface that can enumerate the windows server backup instances on multiple servers in the same window or is there a microsoft bug fix I'm missing?

2. The other problem is the lack of being able to store more than 1 day's worth of backups via network share. Is this likely to change so that it can backup as much as possible up to the drive space available? I am aware if I backup to a drive volume that I can have backups build upon each other, but why is this not possible (and will it be possible) in the future for network shares?
