Hello, I have a Windows Server 2016 Essentials server that I have setup a scheduled backup on. I have it doing a full bare metal backup to an external hard drive. Windows shows the scheduled backup in the Windows Server Backup GUI and in the
Task Scheduler. I can run the backup manually, without any issues, but when the scheduled backup is set to run it doesn't. If I launch the Windows Server Backup GUI it will tell me that the backup is scheduled to run the next day. When I look at
the scheduled task I see that it is using the SYSTEM account and has a Last Run Result 0xC0000142. I have never had an issue with the Windows Backup program and this was a fresh install all I configured on server is to be a domain controller and ran all of
the Windows updates. I haven't messed with any setting or permissions as well. To me if feels like it's a permission problem but I don't understand why, when the backup is running with the SYSTEM account, just like all my other servers. I
have removed the backup schedule and re-added it but that didn't make a difference. I do see where a user was having a similar issue and was being told to add the SYSTEM account to the Administrators Group in Active Directory. I have never needed to do this
and would like to fix the issue and not add the SYSTEM account to this group.
