Today, our Server 2008R2 DC just stopped working and the whole network ground to a halt.
Seems something's trashed AD so after a couple of hours of trying to bring it back to life, I decide to go for the backup that was taken last night option. The backup was made with Windows Server Backup and was a full bare metal affair. However, on trying
to restore, it refuses to see the backup unless I create a share on the new server, and once it has found it, says there's no backup contained in the folder, despite the fact that I can see all of the backup files.
Has anyone got any ideas as my Bank Holiday weekend is starting with an evening in the office and it's getting rather annoying.
