Why Can't Windows 10 PRO Support Shadow Storage on a Different Drive?

With the increasing use of SSD drives for the system drive it is only sensible to try to reduce as much as possible unwanted writes to the SSD.

One way to do this would be to allow Shadow Storage to be created and stored on another device. In the past this was done with VSSADMIN

e.g. C:\Windows\system32>vssadmin add shadowstorage /for=c: /on=d: /maxsize=30% OR

      C:\Windows\system32>vssadmin Resize shadowstorage /for=c: /on=d: /maxsize=30%

This was available on previous versions, but the facility to do so has now been removed on windows 10 PRO.

It is not impossible to do because I noticed that on a conventional HDD as I added additional partitions, their Shadow Storage allocations were created on the original volume.

So why remove the facility to remove it via command???
