Hello,
it looks like today is a day for problems with Windows Server Backup.
I have a strange problem with Windows Server backup (full backup, sistem state) of a server that has a Hyper-V role installed and hosts some VMs.
I'm doing full backup using Windows Server Backup on iSCSI disk (full backup, system state, but wuthoud VMs configuration files and VHDs). The backup fails to complete (it fails at the start, while doing VSS) with these errors:
Error 28.4.2013 11:54:53 Backup 521 None
The backup operation that started at '
2013-04-28T09:44:52.293000000Z' has failed because the Volume Shadow Copy Service operation to create a shadow copy of the volumes being backed up failed with following error code '2155348001'. Please review the event details for a solution, and then rerun the backup operation once the issue is resolved.

One or more iSCSI disks are configured in the virtual machine '*****. Back up programs that use the Hyper-V VSS writer cannot back up iSCSI volumes that are configured through the guest operating system of a virtual machine. To avoid potential data loss, use another method to back up the data on the iSCSI disks. If you restore the data on this virtual machine, make sure to check the data of the iSCSI disk for integrity. It is true that I use iSCSI in VMs but I don't know why this is a problem.
Any idea?
Thank you!
Best wishes,
Marko
