BMR/Systemstate backup not working on windows server 2008 error 2147942487

Hi all;

I came to seek solution for my problem with system image backup. We are using SCDPM2010 to backup our server farm. However, one server is refusing to give BMR backup. I tried to backup to an external HDD as a test, it also didnt work.

I tried observing the backup process using "wbadmin get status", it goes smoothly until it reaches 99%, at which it gives an error: The parameter is incorrect.

However, after alot of research, I found some answers suggest doing a chkdsk /F on reboot. However I tried, but the server also gave another error "cannot open volume for direct access"

here is the output from chkdsk command without any arguments:

Chkdsk was executed in read-only mode on a volume snapshot.
